Symbaloo is a visually based tool for managing and sharing links to websites and online resources. It gives the teacher the opportunity to curate collections of relevant links for students. The tool is suitable for use within a monological form of teaching.

In the monologic form of teaching, Symbaloo can act as a teacher's collection of links for students. It might be a good idea with a common link collection when, students are to seek information about a particular topic. By bringing together the most significant sites and resources on the topic in one place, the teacher can ensure, that students have a common ground to work from – regardless of their ability to search information on the Web. In this manner, Symbaloo may serve as a tool for filtering and curating the flow of information to the students.

GoSoapBox in Education

GoSoapBox is a webbased quiz- discussion- and evaluation tool, which can be used on both PC, Mac and smartphones. It makes it possible, in an easy way, to evaluate student learning, to engage students and to create dialogue in the classroom. The tool combines the functions of tools like TodaysMeet and Socrative, and is suited for use within a monological and a dialogical form of teaching.

GoSoapBox

In the monologic form of teaching, GoSoapBox can be used by the teacher to ensure, that the learners have understood the key concepts of the subject. It may for example be by means of a quiz, which students must answer individually using their computer or smartphone, after which the teacher can see which students have responded correctly to the questions. This use of the application offers a good opportunity to evaluate and organise teaching, so that all learners reach the learning objectives.

In the monological form, it is also possible to use the function ' Social Q&A ', which allows the learners can ask questions to the teaching – both to the instructor and to each other. This function is similar to that of TodaysMeet, but GoSoapBox, however, provide space for 250 characters in each post, where Today Meet only leaves room for 140 characters.

In the dialogical form of teaching GoSoapBox can be used as a springboard for dialogue on class. The teacher can put a written question to the class (the ' Discussion '), and ask the learners to write their individual answers to the question in the Soap Box. The answers will then be shown on the Board (it is possible to make responses anonymous, which can ensure that more dare utter it), and a dialogue can be started around the answers.

It is not free to use GoSoapBox (it costs from $7.50 per month for one teacher), but one has the opportunity to try it out and assess, if one finds it better than a combination of the free tools TodaysMeet and Socrative.

Evernote in Education

Within the dialogical form of teaching it is obvious to use Bubbl.us as students' individual mind maps, for example to help them generate ideas prior to writing assignments and other tasks. The student may write his ideas into the mind map, and the teacher has the opportunity to read and advise the student from his/her own starting point. The mind map can function as a mean to continuously control the process, and keep the student focused on what was, the initial idea.

It is always possible to export mind maps as a .jpg or .png image.

Weebly is a free tool for producing and publishing websites. It provides the ability to create a home page for a class or a subject, as well as it gives the opportunity to let learners create their own home pages and letting them edit these together. Weebly is best suited for use within a monological or a polyphonic form of teaching.

Google Docs in Education

Google Docs is a free collaborative writing tool, which gives you and your students an opportunity to work simultaneously in text documents, worksheets, presentations, drawings etc.. The tool is suitable primarily for the polyphonic form of teaching, but it is also possible to use it in a dialogical form of teaching.

In the polyphonic form of teaching the tool is obvious to use. in connection with project work, where students must collaborate in groups, and where you as a teacher want to participate in the process. Google Docs allows the teacher and students to collaborate on the process of writing even if they do not sit in the same room.

In the dialogical form of teaching Google Docs can be used for individual or joint process-writing, where students, individually or jointly write a draft text, and the teacher then gives comments directly in the document, after which students work on the same document to incorporate those of your comments, that they consider relevant. Google Docs enables teacher and students to view the document's history, so that one can see what changes have been made from time to time.

Prezi is a free, visual presentation tool. It has become very popular over the recent years, and many have already replaced their Powerpoints with Prezi-presentations, because the tool gives some new visual possibilities and is easy to use.

Within the polyphonic form of teaching You can let students collaborate on the development of a Prezi — you can, for example, allow groups of students work simultaneously with different parts in a Prezi-presentation, and turn it into a kind of common ' mind-map ' on a topic. The tool can also be used for students ' presentations – it will for many be motivating pupils to be able to make a nice, visual presentation, and since the tool is intuitive and easy to use, the vast majority of learners will be able to use it after a short introduction.
